Position: Full Time, Permanent – Emergency Medical Responder Security Guard
Reporting to: Shift /Site Supervisor and Paragon Client Service Manager
Location: George Brown College – Various Campuses
Schedule: 12 hours Continental Days
Hours: 36 to 48 hours per week or 84 hours per biweekly
Salary: $19 per hour
Working Conditions
Parking is not available at the site if you are driving.
Required to work, if necessary, various rotating shifts on short notice and be available for work in a 24x7x365 environment.
Qualifications:
Valid Ontario Security Guard License
Educational background or equal experience in Medical is a must.
Physical Demands: excessive walking, standing for 8 to 12 hours, exposure to all weather conditions and extreme temperatures
Prior experience as a Security Guard is considered an asset.
Be able to keep an open and objective mind, remembering that residents and staff have a diverse background
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Must demonstrate high attention to detail / observational awareness
Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence and the ability to work productively and efficiently in a team
Major Responsibilities:
Understanding the needs of the student residents and being able to build relationships with the residents in the community.
Help develop a healthy environment in which students have concern and respect for the rights of others
Provide primary medical response for any on-site medical emergencies
Perform First Aid/CPR on-site as necessary
Conducting Health Assessments and Emergency First Aid to ill or injured patrons of the property
Complete thorough and accurate documentation of all treated individuals
Attend all first AID-related events at their assigned campus.
Completed all first-AID reports and submit documentation through the security reporting system (PPM)
Conduct routine building and campus patrols
Maintain issued uniform and carry tools required for EMR duties
Wear protective equipment when responding to a patient or casualties.
Complete mandatory training as directed by Public Safety & Security (medical or security)
Monitor CCTV surveillance systems
