Security Site Supervisor – Retail, Commercial and Educational sector (B3)
Position: Full Time, Permanent – Security Site Supervisor
Reporting to: Paragon Client Service Manager
Location: Toronto Downtown
Schedule: Monday to Friday mornings and 12 hours Continental Days and Nights Schedule
Hours: 80 to 84 hours biweekly
Salary: $20 to $21.50/hr
Valid Ontario Security Guard License
Physical Demands: excessive walking, standing for 8 to 12 hours, exposed to all weather conditions and extreme temperatures
Minimum 1 of Tactical Security Guard experience in educational institutes, Mall, or related field experience is a must
1 Year of Security Supervisor, leadership or combination of equivalent role and education is a must
Educational background in Law enforcement, Police Foundations, Security and Investigations, Criminology, or related subjects is considered an asset.
Be able to keep an open and objective mind.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Must demonstrate high attention to detail / observational awareness
Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence and the ability to work productively and efficiently in a team
Provides leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching and training to on-site security guards directly reporting to the Site Supervisor and Security Manager.
Deal with trespassers and unauthorized persons found on the property, in a fair and safe manner, by enforcing the Trespass to Property Act.
Maintaining communications at all times with fellow Supervisors, Security Guards, Management, Customer Service and Maintenance staff.
Be observant and record all discrepancies, deficiencies and safety hazards noted during security patrols and take corrective action either informing the applicable department or handling it personally, whenever possible.
Enthusiastically conducts proactive patrols to build relationships with patrons, address policy breeches, and note facility concerns.
Ability to de-escalate a crisis situation, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel including police, fire and paramedic resources.
Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner so as not to create panic among the college staff and students.
Maintain the peace, safety, and security of all students, college staff and clients on the property
Respond to all emergency response needs such as providing first aid, missing persons, etc.
Ensure that the property is safe by ensuring all security measures are functioning properly.
Monitor CCTV surveillance systems
Maintain a detailed memo book and prepare incident reports on all matters dealt with
Obtain statements and collect information for Incident
Logging in/out of Key, Radio, and pager audits
Handle Lost & Found items and inquiries
Report any unsafe working conditions in any/all departments
