Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At Paragon, we believe that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are not just moral imperatives, but catalysts for innovation and growth. Our leaders act as role models, and their diverse voices and perspectives empower us to embrace challenges, foster creative problem solving, and turn obstacles into opportunities. By cultivating a workplace culture that is welcoming, respectful, and collaborative, we provide our employees with the freedom to question the status quo and drive positive change.

Diversity fuels our strength. As a company, we stand firmly on the foundation of diversity, recognizing it as a critical component of our success. We understand that the most ground breaking ideas emerge when individuals from diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences collaborate to develop novel solutions.

In line with our core values, Paragon is committed to treating everyone with dignity and respect. We acknowledge that fostering equity in the workplace can be complex, as fair treatment can vary based on each employee’s unique experiences. Consequently, we are dedicated to equipping each individual with the specific tools they need to access opportunities and thrive within our organization.

An inclusive work environment at Paragon is characterized by authentic, visible, and meaningful representation of the broader community at all levels. We strive to create a space that nurtures a sense of security and empowerment for all employees, while valuing their contributions and respecting their efforts. Our inclusive workplace safeguards the rights of all individuals and groups, providing equal access to services, rewards, and opportunities. By ensuring our processes and structures support full engagement, we can treat everyone fairly, recognize their achievements, and foster a truly inclusive environment.

Human Rights

At Paragon, we recognize our responsibility to safeguard the human rights of all individuals affected by our business operations, including employees, clients, suppliers, and the communities we serve. We appreciate the importance of respecting the diverse cultures we encounter through our work and the people we engage in the process.

We strive to be an equal opportunity employer that values and respects diversity, upholds the dignity and worth of every individual, and fosters a culture of understanding and mutual respect for human rights. In alignment with the Ontario Human Rights Code, we are committed to creating a workplace free from discrimination and harassment. Our goal is to identify, reduce, or mitigate the adverse effects of any barriers as we work towards establishing a more equitable business environment.

Paragon firmly believes that diversity not only enhances our business but also enriches the wider community on social, political, cultural, and economic levels. As such, we stand against the spread of hatred and advocate for an atmosphere free from hate and prejudice.

Human Rights

Employee Health, Safety, and Equal Opportunity

Safeguarding the health and safety of all employees takes precedence over all other considerations. We are committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with the regulatory standards of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). Our management actively fosters a secure workplace focused on well-being by leading through example.

As an equal opportunity employer, Paragon is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion within our organization. We strictly prohibit discrimination and harassment based on age, ancestry, race, color, citizenship, ethnic origin, place of origin, creed, disability, family status, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, sex (including pregnancy & breastfeeding), or any other protected grounds as outlined by The Ontario Human Rights Code.

This policy encompasses all aspects of our employment processes, including recruitment, hiring, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, leaves of absence, salary, benefits, training, and apprenticeship. Paragon bases employment decisions solely on qualifications, merit, and current organizational needs, ensuring a fair and inclusive workplace for all.

Anti Bribery And Corruption

Anti-Bribery and Corruption

At Paragon, we take immense pride in upholding ethical business practices and leading by example. Our approach to work is as important as our achievements. Our aim is to exhibit the highest levels of ethics and integrity in all our interactions with employees, customers, and suppliers. This commitment is a corporate priority and a shared responsibility for every team member, as each action and decision we take impacts our company and its reputation.

As outlined in Paragon’s Code of Ethics & Conduct, all members are expected to act with honesty, adhere to the laws and regulations governing our business, including anti-bribery and corruption, and demonstrate the utmost ethics and integrity in all business engagements and activities.

Our Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy builds upon the anti-bribery and corruption provisions in Paragon’s Code of Ethics & Conduct and reaffirms our unwavering commitment to maintaining integrity in business and adopting a zero-tolerance approach towards bribery and corruption. The policy offers further guidance on recognizing bribery and corruption and provides specific examples to help team members understand which actions must be avoided.

Ethics and Compliance Office

All team members receive training on the core principles of our policy during their onboarding and undergo mandatory e-Integrity training annually thereafter. Given that we operate in a high-risk industry, we provide more in-depth, targeted training either in-person or online for all personnel, with a heightened focus on individuals in positions more susceptible to bribery and corruption.

Paragon’s Ethics Line serves as a support system for anyone with ethical questions or inquiries related to our organization. We encourage everyone to utilize the Ethics Line to seek ethical guidance or make a good faith report about misconduct or perceived violations of this policy, our Code of Ethics and Conduct, other company policies or procedures, laws, questionable business practices, potential fraud, or concerns or complaints regarding any accounting, accounting controls, or auditing matter. Reports can be made anonymously.
